It was reported that there is a higher incidence of retinopathy, neuropathy, nephropathy etc. together with diabetes. A wide spread pathological change is thickening of capillary membrane, increase in vessel wall matrix and cellular proliferation resulting in vascular complication like lumen narrowing, early atherosclerosis, sclerosis of glomerular capillaries, retinopathy, neuropathy and vascular insufficiency.
